To be held in Anaheim, CA from 7/3/2013 through 7/7/2013.

 

 

Honored at the 2013 North American Irish Dance Championships are the founding members of the Western Region:  Annie McBride, Kathleen Deeley, Maureen Hall, Ann Healy, John and Maureen Kennelly, and Mary Jo Murphy.

 

Important Information:

2013 NAIDC to be held at the headquarters hotel, Anaheim Hilton with dancing from Wednesday 7/3 through Sunday 7/7.

Awards to follow competitions each night at Anaheim Marriott.

IDTANA Convention, Tuesday, 7/2 at Anaheim Hilton.

Teachers Reception, Tuesday, 7/2 at Anaheim Marriott.

Qualification requirements for North American Championships per IDTANA rules:

  1. All open championship dancers may enter
  2. All dancers 10 years of age and up who do not meet the above must qualify at their Regional Oireachtas.  The Top Ten dancers plus 25% of the competition (based on number of actual dancers, not entries) will qualify, subject to them achieving a recall.
  3. Under 8 and Under 9 dancers will be entered at the discretion of their teachers.

It should be noted that the qualification rule that allowed dancers who recalled at the previous North American Irish Dance Championships has been rescinded and the only qualification methods are listed above.

Preliminary Championship dancers who recieve their required firsts by May 1, and opt to enter based on rule 1 must enter all future feiseanna as an open championship dancer.

Qualified pupils of a hired adjudicator may defer qualification to the following year's event.
